Yu Oen

Yu Oen brings over 30 years of experience in corporate and institutional finance to his approach to wealth management, tailoring solutions to meet clients' unique needs.

Yu began his career at Merrill Lynch’s investment banking unit, advising on corporate M&A transactions, before transitioning to private equity at the Lodestar Group, specializing in corporate restructurings. Seeking a change from Wall Street, Yu founded Balitono, a thriving consumer goods company, serving as CEO until its sale in 2007. He later became CFO of MMIT, a Susquehanna Growth Equity health tech portfolio company, where he restructured financial reporting and accounting operations.

In 2010, Yu founded Optimal Portfolio, a boutique wealth management firm focused on delivering impartial service. He sold his firm to Hightower Advisors and joined Fairport Wealth in 2022.

Yu has served as Trustee and Co-chair of the Investment Committee for the Chapin School in Princeton, New Jersey. A dedicated martial artist, Yu is an Aikido instructor at Princeton University and a Krav Maga instructor.

Yu graduated summa cum laude from Boston University School of Management, Phi Beta Kappa and Salutatorian of the graduating class, majoring in Finance.
