Meet your speakers:

Emily Shacklett, CPA, offers more than 20 years of industry knowledge in her role as director and practice group leader at Fairport. Emily’s thorough industry knowledge, attention to detail and entrepreneurial attitude make her an invaluable member of the Fairport team. She has experience in providing advice regarding complex tax-related matters, executive compensation, and related planning strategies. Prior to joining Fairport in 2001, Emily held leadership positions at Brockman Coats Gedelian & Co. and KPMG. She graduated with honors from the University of Akron with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and is a member of the American Institute of CPAs. Emily is a Member of the Cleveland Estate Planning Council and Union Club of Cleveland.

Ann-Marie Ahern, head of McCarthy Lebit’s Employment Law practice, has devoted her career to representing employees in transition. She is a dedicated, tireless advocate, and trusted advisor. As a Certified Specialist in Labor and Employment Law, she is knowledgeable of all facets of employment law. Executives in transition rely on Ann-Marie and her team to help them unpack and negotiate their separation agreements and job offers, which are often quite complex. Helping employees maximize their compensation package, whether at the beginning of an employment relationship or the end, brings Ann-Marie joy.

Amy Stoessel is associate publisher of Crain’s Cleveland Business and VP of revenue operations for Crain City Brands. She has been with Crain’s Cleveland Business and Crain Communications since May 2006, serving in a variety of positions, including as sections editor, overseeing the paper’s weekly topical sections, and as managing editor of custom and special projects, overseeing Crain’s Content Studio-Cleveland. Prior to joining Crain’s, Stoessel had worked in various editing and reporting positions at daily newspapers, including as managing editor of the (Lorain) Morning Journal. A Cleveland-area native, Stoessel has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Ohio University.
