Yu Oen
Yu Oen has spent years developing and refining his approach to wealth management. His over 30 years of experience in corporate and institutional finance give him insight into his clients’ needs.
Yu began his career in Merrill Lynch’s investment banking unit, advising on corporate M&A transactions. He then transitioned to private equity, specializing in corporate restructurings for the Lodestar Group. Needing a break from the pressures of Wall Street, Yu went on to found Balitono, a successful consumer goods business, where he was CEO until it was sold in 2007. Following the sale, Yu became the CFO of the Susquehanna Growth Equity portfolio company MMIT. While at MMIT, Yu helped lead the restructuring of its financial reporting and accounting units.
Prior to joining Fairport Wealth in 2022, Yu founded Optimal Portfolio in 2010 with the vision of creating a boutique wealth management firm to help the needs of clients with impartial and devoted attention.
Yu has served as a Trustee and Co-chair of the Investment Committee for the Chapin School in Princeton, New Jersey. He is a father of two boys and resides with his wife in the Princeton area. An Aikido enthusiast, he serves as an instructor at Princeton University and a Krav Maga instructor at Israeli Krav Maga Association.
Yu graduated summa cum laude from Boston University School of Management, Phi Beta Kappa, majoring in Finance.
